A little note for visitors!

Radioaktivni

With the exception of some CT, X-ray, research laboratories or possible reactors, there is no radioactive place on the territory of the Czech Republic that would threaten the health of visitors, even in the short term!

In the case of museum exhibitions of samples and visits to the museum, there is no risk!
Even in the case of higher intakes of certain minerals, you will not receive any significant dose during the visit
(max. μSv units if you enjoy yourself for a really long time, comparable to one plane ride at an altitude of about 10 km, or a small x-ray of a tooth)


Here are some points for comparison:
- The average dose e. power in the Czech Republic is between 0.1 - 0.2 μSv/h (but 0.3 - 0.4 μSv/h are not an exception)
- The limit for permanent residence given by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) is 1 μSv/h
- Probable proof of the health impact of radiation on the human body is after receiving a dose of 1 000 000 μSv for a short period of time (in the order of days to weeks), when the risk of cancer is reported in about 5,5% of cases
- You receive 2-8 μSv daily depending on the environment in which you live
- 49% of the daily dose will be reduced thanks to radon
- If you eat a banana, you get around 0.1 μSv/h extra thanks to K-40, natural potassium

Radioactive sites can be found where you wouldn't expect them!
And that's why we're here to let you know!

We are making an independent application for the presentation of interesting places with potentially increased radioactivity.
We put everything we measure on the map. We usually attach photos that allow you to directly see the place where we measured and now also the basic spectrographs.

On the map, the measured places are represented by colored points. The color of the point corresponds to the measured value (see the scale on the left of the map). You can click on these points. After clicking on a point, an information window opens where you can find all of them measurement information. A link to the detail of the area is also included, where there is a general overview of the surroundings of this place. You can freely change the radius of the surrounding area and at the same time change the position on the map.
